Any Wedding Can Go Smoothly With These Tips

Many of us have daydreamed about the day when we will walk down the aisle ever since childhood, right down to the gown we will wear, what our hair will look like, and the colors in our bouquet. It can be exciting to finally plan your wedding, but without the right guidance, it can seem overwhelming.

Typically, a wedding dress costs a lot of money. To save money, consider looking at dresses that have the same appeal as a wedding gown, but aren’t categorized as such. You might even consider whether a dress designed for bridesmaids could meet your needs. Even if the dress needs alterations, it could still be cheaper than an actual wedding dress.

When you’re planning on who to give the speeches at your wedding, have them rehearse the things they would say in front of you so you can determine if everything they say will be appropriate. Certain jokes or comments might not sit well with certain age groups.

If you plan to serve your own food at the wedding, try shopping wholesale at places like Costco. Shopping wholesale renders significant savings for food. You may want to ask your friends to chip in with buying food.

Transportation is an important thing to think about. If you have people who need to get home after the reception, have taxis ready to bring them. Also, this is beneficial for people who have consumed alcohol during the wedding.

Flowers are great, but don’t place too many of them on your tables or they can become tacky. The majority of the times, the flowers just get in the way. Plus, some guests may be allergic to flowers. Consider placing non scented candles on the table for a romantic look.

While you definitely want to provide songs you like to your DJ, you also want to include songs you definitely don’t want to make the list. Maybe you loved a song once but no longer do. Whatever your dislikes, make sure your DJ knows about them.

When someone is going to talk during your wedding, be sure to have them rehearse what they’re going to say in front of you so that you know what they’re saying is appropriate. There will be people of all ages present, and what may seem funny to a younger person may not be humorous to an older crowd.

If you are inviting your family to a destination wedding, ask if they want to enjoy the honeymoon with you as well. Longer stays at hotels are often discounted so it’ll save you money in the long run. Then you can have a memorable wedding and your guests will enjoy a mini vacation.

Don’t make guests wait around while taking pictures. Have pictures of the couple and groomsmen in advance. Pictures with those being wed and their parents should also be taken beforehand if possible.

Post a schedule of events on your wedding website or send an itinerary with your wedding invitations. This helps out-of-town guests make appropriate travel plans, especially guests who are going to participate in your wedding rehearsal or other events. Give them clear direction, times to be there and what they need to bring, so that things go smoothly.

Include elements that tell about you, your spouse and the relationship. Pick a wedding theme that tells the story of your relationship.

Wedding planning doesn’t have to turn into an overwhelming stressful event. You might even find that you enjoy planning for your wedding almost as much as the big event itself!
